Descriptions:

Fall detector works by sending and receiving infrared signal to measure the distance between itself and target object and it reacts when a sudden vary of distance occurs. This kind of detector bases on a pair of low-cost, array-based infrared ping sensors.It could be used to prevent robots falling into the lower places.The output voltage of this sensor stays high in case an object exists in the specified distance range.So this sensor can also be used as proximity sensor.
